Our mission is to empower at-risk, low-income students through comprehensive leadership development resources that support their journey from middle school to successful careers. We focus on helping students navigate their youth, teenage, and young adult years by fostering self-awareness, socialization, and leadership skills. As they transition from middle school to high school, we prepare them to handle challenges and embrace opportunities. In high school, our program expands to include essential components for resume writing and career and job placement support, ensuring that upon graduation, they are equipped and ready to enter the workforce confidently. By nurturing resilience and career readiness, we aim to inspire a generation to recognize their potential and achieve lasting success.

As the visionary founder and CEO of Leadership Development Resources, my transformative journey commenced within the Hillsborough County School District, where I cultivated a profound understanding of the obstacles confronting underserved students. Raised in a bustling household of 11, I intimately experienced the hardships and poverty that many similarly situated students endure. Transitioning to the YMCA, I first served as a Program Director at Bob Gilbertson’s YMCA in Tampa, Florida, before assuming the role of Senior Program Director at Ridgecrest YMCA in Largo, Florida. Additionally, I had the honor of acting as the Social Development Director for Pinellas County Job Corp, where I further honed my skills in empowering individuals through impactful programs. These pivotal roles solidified my unwavering dedication to community service and guiding students towards a promising tomorrow. Drawing from these diverse experiences, I founded Leadership Development Resources, a nonprofit organization devoted to offering vital support to students navigating challenges in their family lives and communities, driven by an unyielding passion to effect positive change in their lives.
